Superstitions - Menstruation
   
  That to shorten the duration of your menstrual cycle, you can jump up & down 3 times after getting the very first menstrual cycle. The menstrual cycle should now only last 3 days.

Isn't this very funny?  I am glad my grandmother, the one who discovered me having my very first menstrual period, didn't made me do that... lol !

   
   
  That if you have your menstrual period, you should not take a bath or you will be mentally demented.

Ewwwwww!!!  This is the worst that I had ever heard.  Sadly, some women from the provinces ( rural areas ) are still practicing this one especially those that come from poor families.  They really\ think they will go nuts if they take a bath during their menstrual period.  I remember when I still had my video shop, I have this one employee from the province who really believed in that superstition.  But I am glad that she listened to my explanations about it and not practicing that superstition anymore.
   
 
   
  Superstitions - Death
   
  At the wake, Filipino families of the deceased usually prepare food for those who visit the deceased. Do not take any of the food home or else a death in your home shall follow.

At the burial, if a child is present at the burial, then he/she must be carried over the burial site prior to covering the body.  This ensures that the deceased will not take the child next.

The person that passed away should not be holding a rosary.  It represents "continuity" which means that death will continue on through out the family.

If a rosary is laid with the deceased, the rosary must be cut in order to break the cycle of death within that particular family. 

Any one who comes close to the coffin during a viewing should not shed tears and let it drip onto the deceased.  This will prevent the deceased's soul from resting in peace. 

Do not attend two viewings in one night.  This will result in your own death or a relative of yours to pass away within a year.
   
 
   
  Superstitions - Teeth & Nails
   
 

If your front teeth have a big gap this is a signs of good luck. The bigger the gap is, the more likely you will have a better chance in life.

When a toddler loses his first tooth you must burn it or give it to the squirrels, so as the toddler grown up, he/she will have strong permanent teeth.  If a baby grew its teeth earlier than expected there is a chance that he/she will have a brother or a sister.

It is bad luck to cut your nails on a Friday

I would not even think about it 'coz as you know I love longgggg nails... lol
