Places To Go | ||
As I have said in the earlier pages about my country, the Philippines is more or less consists of 7,100 islands. And do you know what that means? That means there are many places to explore here. I bet you that if you went sightseeing in the Philippines you would get tired but satisfied because of all the exotic places to see. The places you choose really depend on what kind of person you are. If you are the type of person who loves adventure and who always has a camera, then we recommend visiting the tourist spots in the countryside.
"Banaue Rice Terraces" which features stairways to the sky was carved out of mountain sides by the Ifugao Tribe over 2,000 years ago. Still in use today, the steps were built as an irrigation system for the rice paddies.

The famous "Chocolate Hills" found in Bohol, resemble chocolate drops and that's how they got their name. "Taal Volcano," the most beautiful landscape and the smallest volcano within an island is located in the middle of a lake. Another "Chocolate Hills" resemblance is the "Hundred Islands" found in the province of Pangasinan. The islands are not brown, however lush with green color and surrounded by the beach. It was called the "Hundred Islands" because there are really 100 looking little islands. It was not an exact count but it's close. I told you before in the previous page, it depends if it is high tide or low tide... lol. If you are the type of person who seeks relaxation and if you want to spend your time under the sun, the place to go is "Boracay." Boracay is in Cebu ( Visayas region ) and it is one of the most popular beach resorts in the Philippines. Well, I love it so much that I can't even count anymore how many times I have been there... lol. I even bought a vacation plan good for thirty years in one of the best hotels there. |

Aside from the countryside spots, cities in the Philippines are full of places to go too. In Metro Manila, large shopping malls are found. There are also popular hangout places for the teenagers and for almost every generation. In nightclubs you don't need an ID to get in because they don't really care about age limit. As long as you look more than 18 years old then you are in... lol! If there is trouble, it will be controlled and secured by people called "bouncers." "Baguio City" is also one of the famous cities. It is the "Summer Capital of the Philippines." It is called the summer capital because during summer, all the cities are hot, but Baguio stays cool. There are many places to go there like the "Camp John Hay", which was a former American Base. That is where big golf courses are found and the everlasting green color and cool cottages are relaxing. There is also the "Lourdes Grotto", to go there you need to climb a stair with more than 400 steps I think, not sure about how many it is but lots. And of course, my favorite is the "Strawberry Farm". I am not fond of strawberries but it is seldom you see them in Manila 'coz it's only in Baguio where we can grow strawberries because of the cool climate. When I was a kid, my family always go to Baguio almost every month 'coz we love it there. It is 5 to 6 hours drive from my place. Baguio is very famous for their strawberries and wood carvings. |
